Privacy Policy

This website is run for taking takeaway orders. We collect the minimum needed to cook and hand over your food, we never sell your details, and we run no advertising or tracking.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Piotr Raczynski, trading as Adam's Kitchen Takeaway, 16 High Street, Hawick TD9 9EH — phone 01450 218090.

What we collect and why

Who processes it for us

We do not sell or share your details with anyone else, and we send no marketing.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept as part of the accounting records the business must hold for tax purposes — up to six years — and are then deleted. We do not build customer profiles or marketing lists from them.

The notes box is the exception: whatever you write there, including any allergy or health information, is cleared from the order automatically after 60 days — well before the six-year accounting retention applies to the rest of the order.

Cookies and storage on your device

There are no advertising or analytics cookies. Your basket is saved in your own browser's storage so it survives a page reload — it stays on your device. One session cookie exists solely for restaurant staff logging into the order hub.

The "My orders" list is also stored only in your own browser: it keeps the order reference, date, items and total, but not your name, phone number or address. Entries expire automatically after 90 days, and you can remove them at any time with the "Clear order history" button. Nothing in this list is sent to us.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it (unless we must keep it for tax records), and object to how it is used. Call 01450 218090 or ask in the restaurant. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
